Ruslana Sergeyevna Korshunova: July 2, 1987 – June 28, 2008 was a Kazakh model of Russian descent. After establishing herself as a rising figure in the fashion industry by posing for magazines like Vogue and designers such as Vera Wang and Nina Ricci. Korshunova's death, which was ruled a suicide, became a longtime controversial subject of international attention.
Ruslana Korshunova was 'on top of the world' in the days before she leapt nine floors to her death.
The striking beauty from Kazakhstan appears to have left no hints to her closest friends that she was depressed, let alone suicidal.
One close friend, who asked not to be named, said, 'She's one of the sweetest, nicest people you'll ever meet. The world lost a great person.'
